Under and over- consumption of any kind ends up troubling the body’s natural cycle. The cure lies in keeping a timely check on these patterns and acting with extra caution.

STARVATION A DETOX MYTH

Detoxification should not be misunderstood as another form of starvation or keeping the body deprived of a healthy sate.” Never starve and call it a detoxification diet. People need to realize that they cannot eat a heavy meal after an entire day of starvation- like they do when they fast. Contrary to the misconception that a detox diet is primarily a liquid based diet, certain food items can be consumed in small quantities throughout the day”. So eat right to enhance your beauty-which will eventually reflect in healthy skin, hair and body. “A simple detox plan can indulge vegetable juices, fruit juices, coconut water, sprouts, fresh fruits and vegetables, clear dals, tofu and ample amounts of water. This needs to be dividing in small quantities throughout the day.

BRUSH IT AWAY

Beautiful, radiant skin is now only a brush away! Brushing removes the dull, dry and dead skin cells and makes way for the new ones. The movement of bristles eliminates the toxins from the body and has a beneficial effect on the cellulite. Morning is the best time for skin brushing since the blood flow is faster then and it results in even more refreshing skin. Do it regularly you feel lot of differences.

WRINKLE DELAY

As we age, the collagen and elastin fibres in the skin begin to degenerate and become loose. This will cause sagging of the skin and appearance of wrinkles. Apply a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 at least 20 minutes before you step out into the sun. Use a cream containing retinol 0.1 per cent on alternate nights. Also use an anti-ageing cream which contains matrixyl or pentapeptides as well as moisturizing agents. You could also undergo AHA peels once a month for about 6-10 sessions. Dermo lift is another anti-ageing non-surgical radiofrequency treatment. This causes production of new collagen and tightening of old collagen-thus causing a tightening effect on the skin. It is a very safe and painless treatment and takes only 35-40 minutes per session.

KEEP IT CLEAN

Cleaning and conditioning is the first step towards maintaining healthy hair. Proteins are the building blocks of your hair. In order to add body and volume to your hair, choose protein and serum-based shampoos and conditioners. Look for words like ‘moisturizing’ and ‘repair’ in the products label and avoid high alcohol-based products. The hydrating formula in shampoos locks the moisture in the hair, preventing breakage and split ends. During each hair wash, let the shampoo stand in for five minutes and avoid using water that is too hot, as it stimulates the production of natural oil in the scalp.
